Rename a File Extension with a Single Click through Shell Menu
Many time we need to change a file extension but some time it is very itchy to select the last three characters and then change it and even on some system we can’t able to find the last three characters to change. Thus letting us helpless as we a lot of us don’t know where to find them using folder options as described below:
1. Open my computer or explorer and from the tools menu click on folder option.
2. From the window popups go to View tab and locate and click on the option”Show Hidden files and folders” and uncheck “Hide extension for known files types”, This is a very useful tip and you can also use it if you received any file from any of your clients or wants to know what is the extension of any existing file.
Now if you really need an easy way to change file extensions then here it is a new Windows explorer shell-extension “Change File Extension Shell Menu” is available. Using this tool you can simply change any file extension using renaming functionality right over from the right click context menu.
This small application is free to use and it open source and is definitely a must have tool for every PC users and is fully compatible with XP/VISTA/WINDOWS 7.
