Mozilla Firefox 3.5 hitting Today: Download links provided
So you have already seen some of the features from the latest open source version of Mozilla Firefox 3.5 from its video available at youtube.com, though, its final release had to be announced. But today the wait is over as it was announced that it has reached the end of its development process as confirmed by Mozilla Corp. on June 29, 2009. At the occasion of the release Mozilla’s John Slater said - “The team here at Mozilla has been working hard on creating features, enhancing performance and adding other awesomeness to Firefox 3.5, and we’re very excited about sharing it with the world.” This new release will be available in 70 languages and improved tools for controlling your private data.
As we know that its previous version was launched in the June 2008 which has set a world record of being downloaded more than eight million in the first 24 hour and today it was almost an year passed for its successor to come. Subsequently Mozilla announced that it was starting development of codename Shiretoko, a browser referred to well until the first half of 2009 as Firefox 3.1. Version 3.1 was rebranded 3.5 to show that the latest iteration of the open-source browser was indeed a major version.
Some the major improvements that you will find in the latest release - supportfor the nativ JSON, and web worker threads, improved GEKO layout engine, html 5 compitable, downloadable fonts and other new css properties. Mozilla revealed for the RC3 build, which was as close to the final milestone as possible.
