The Fastest ever 64 Gb Pen Drive Launched by Sandisk
In spite there is a downturn economy all over the World, India is still emerging as great potential buyer of the consumer product. This is the clear indication as a lot of electronics manufacturer companies are launching their products in India. In this series the Sandisk is the latest name as it recently announced the projected launch of new Ultra Backup USB drive with a maximum capacity of 64 GB.
Manisha Sood, country head, SanDisk India and SAARC Region said “Around 1 million units of cameras with memory slots were sold last year. We forecast the number of units of cameras being sold in India going up in 2009 to about 1.5 million. In the mobile market, as of December 2008, around 100 million handsets sold had memory slots. We can already see mobile phones priced as low as Rs. 4,000 having multimedia functionalities and a memory slot which will provide further impetus to the mobile memory card market,”
SanDisk Corp. who began its operations in India in 2006 has already accomplished some 20,000 retailers across the country though at that time its 95% flash memory business was through the grey market but now it claims that around 80% of its business has legalised, as per records with Economic Times.
These drives which are already deployed in the US marked with in a price tag around $39.99 and $199.99 in a capacities of 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB but in India, though it announced, will be launched at end of March and its pricing details will also be provided at the same time.
These pen drives are based on the latest 43 nanometre technology, which will provide a sonic speed 7.8 MB/second thus revolutionizing storage applications for Movies games and Music. This USB drive also allows touch button facility for backup of files, claiming to be first drive to have such a facility. It also supports the hardware encryption and password protection to make your critical files safe from being stolen.
