Dummy Update for Windows 7 from Microsoft
Last week as Microsoft has already placed a closed tag to its upcoming release of windows 7 but in the meantime it has managed to got a positive response among the users from all around the world. But today it has announced a dummy update for Windows 7 beta. What it mean it actually did not have any update but will be used to probe the forthcoming operating system’s updating capabilites.
About this release Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc said on the company’s corporate blog that up to five updates will be released to PCs running the Windows 7 beta (build 7000) via its Windows Update service. He added more “These updates allow us to test and verify our ability to deliver and manage the updating of Windows 7. We typically verify servicing scenarios during a beta,” Although he cleared that this update wouldn’t actually update anything instead it will simply replace the system files currently on the system.
Being asked about the humors as will it be released around april, as some beta testers having some expressed concerned, Microsoft has declined to gave any definitive date saying “We’re not aware of any planned announcements in the imminent future, and do not believe there is anything lined-up beyond what has been publically [sic] road-mapped.”
