Expect some three dozens changes to Windows 7 RC

Published by rakeshb03 under News Edit This

Windows 7, MicrosoftMicrosoft has first launched Windows 7 public beta on the beginning of  Jan and after 10 it has discontinued the downloads. But throughout the period it has got a massive success. Even though people through out the world like its desktop experience, testers simultaneously barraging Microsoft for some even better. As though to reply, Microsoft will be coming with the final release of “Microsoft Windows 7 release Candidate” having some three dozen changes, small and big, but it has already hinted that these changes will be in a test drive.

The Windows 7 RC changes are designed to give users more control in comparison with earlier version of windows. What testers advised Microsoft for, the better audio reliability, fat 32 support for hard drives, codecs for .mov files for Windows Media Playe — Are some of the changes with in the category.

As with the earlier version any new install programs can not add itself into the taskbar, though it ask the user to do so or not, leaving the decision to the user. The new programs first appear at the bottom of the start menu leaving a choice to the users to launch them or add into the taskbar according to Steven Sinofsky, senior vice president for the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group. Even though it has more room for taskbar, the testers asked for more rooms. While keeping that aspect in mind Microsoft has tweaked Windows 7 RC to open up between 24% and 39% more icons before the taskbar scrolls.

One new feature added is the network icon that will have an overlay option when there is an internet connection available or only it has local network, thus making it easier to setup and find the connections. One more thing among the changes is the flashing open window effect, which have been increase to 7 times instead of three in the earlier version, seeking complaints that it get lost too early.

You can find more info at Microsoft “Engineering Windows 7″ blog.

Now though  Microsoft has already mention that these changes also will be in the testing phase let we look how much these are accepted. Share your views in the forums what do you think????
