What is CorelDraw Macros and how to install?

Published by rakeshb03 under Corel Draw Tips Edit This

CorelDraw macros are the set of actions created using Visual Basic for Application with in the CorelDraw Environment. This made a task very easy which may be somehow complicated using the straight froward method provided. For example, let we a have a document in which we want to convert all text into curves whether these are in groups or in powerclips, now converting this using the normal process it will take a long time find all text from powercliped or grouped objects but using macro this can be done with a single click.

But you should know how to install and configured macros in Corel Draw. Corel Draw macros have *.gsm extension and if a macro doesn’t have an installation program this can be directly copied into the default Corel Draw folder into the Program Files folder, where you will find Draw/GMS folder(as shown below).

But be sure before installation of the macros you have closed the running Corel Draw application.

When finished restart the coreldraw….. Now you may wonder where that all macros have gone don’t worry below is the full explation!

If you want to just simply run any loaded macro directly point to tools/macro/run macro command which will tkae you to the next step where you can find all the loaded macros.

Click on the desired macro to change its shortcut keys and appearance options, to do so look right top of the option box there you find three option tabs namely genera, shortcut keys and appearance click on shortcut keys to change or set a new shortcut keys to the specified macro and click apply once you clicked ok the next time you press the shortcut keys you have set will open the macro itself. By this you can specify any desired shortcut to any of the command available with in the Corel environment.
