Coreldraw files takes a long time to open …..Use this trick
Sometimes in Coreldraw a very strange problem occurs as while opening a file its take too long time, even its size very small with only a very few elements. Some time what happens a file is perfect means it opens quite fast and working in it is easy but as soon as we paste any content from another file its also gets very messy. As i have also search for the reason behind this but there is no satisfactory answer i found. Some says the file is corrupt from which the matter is copied. But i have just got a solution for this to make the file error free, I don’t know how it works but i have tried it on several files and all of them are working perfectly.
What i do i have just exported the file which takes too long time or have a problem as CMX (Corel presentation Exchange) and Reopen the exported file. After saving it as another cdr file it becomes error free. But it have just one draw back all of text wrapping given to any object will be gone. But all the miss happening will not happen again. I know it has no logic but it has work for me and i think it can work for you also.

Guess I need to try this option. I have been doing a similar work-around for my file. I have been exporting them into AI format and then import it back into Corel. The file seems to be working fine. However, as for the fonts, I have not tried that in AI.

I worked a corel11 file in2007…… Now i tried to open that file using Corel 13 but it is not opening and it shows invalid argument occurred.
I know the problem is not by the version…..
HOW TO OPEN CORREPT A COREL DRAW FILE WHICH IS IMPORTANT…. FOR LONG TIME JOB…..

Dear Rakesh…Thanks a Ton…coming from the Core(l) of my heart. There’s only one issue…all drawings bunch up on a single page. Probably I need to group page wise before I export…Logically it should work. Thanks once again…May your tribe increase.

Since I knew this trick a long back. But honesty what “rakeshb03″ did is nobel. Everyone must should be gratefull to you. (including me, if I am writing my problem)
My problem is by time we use it with corel 11 or 12 it is perfect.
but when we are working in corel x4, and export in cmx and then again import in corel x4, it doesn’t work. As ARM and some other problems comes.
When i import / open this CMX file (exported by X4) in corel 12, it works but it creates some problem with all the outlines.
Do any among us know how cmx files (created by X4) can be properly import / open by X4 instead corel 11 or 12.
Or does any among us know about any converter which can covert cdr files into cmx (error free way)
If any among us know about it, kindly share.

actually i used the same trick to convert it to cmx format and get realise that the following
a ) Only Vector graphics gets converted but with loss sharpern edge of Vector images or graphics
b) also problem with place inside vector graphics
c) bitmap shades or any dop shade effect converted to bad quality
d) the vector graphics of place insider is not in there original form colors is converted to single flat color
as per me cmx conversion is only format changing option but with this all the special cdr formates effects gets failed

Once again thanks for such a nice solution.
After so many experiment I have found reason for coreldraw slow opening error.
Reason for that is Coreldraw store Color styles in file.
If there is so many Color Style then it will take so much time.
You can check which color styles are used in file after opening file
in File menu –> tools —> Color Style.
If there are so many color style the your pc will be slowdown.
you can check by other way as below :
1. Export your file to cmx.
2. get document information ofter opening file.
3. Open source file (Original) and get document information of it.
4. Compare both file’s document information.
you may be find difference Color Style in “Style” Section.
but after exporting it to cmx file, styles are not not included so the cmx file open faster bcause of Color style are not included.
This is the reason for delay opening of file.
