*.tga format - The most used file extension and its thumbnail view

rgb_15bits_palette.pngTGA (Truevision Graphics Adapter) is the most popular file format used in the still video editing and is widely supported by the most image editing applications. It was created and developed by Truevision for its Targa, Vista, NuVista and Targa 2000 graphics adapters, all of them are capable of capturing and save into digital data from NTSC and PAL video. The reason behind its popularity is that it was the first 24 bit truecolor bitmap format used in a PC and its device independent structure that make it compatible to any display adapter manufactured by Truevision. Now days TGA file formats are mostly refered as Targa 16, Targa 24, and Targa 32 bit which are mainly the Hardware Specification form which these are created the number after the file format defines the color depth.

But some time it annoyed when anyone have to work with several files but there is no thumbnail in windows explorer. And every time to work on any specific file the user have to open a image viewer to view its preview. Which becomes very tough job to edit with TGA file format.
